Writers go on the record

Progress report 3: The writers are fast approaching the end of their “official duties”!

Their pieces have been submitted, edited and proofed. Copies have been sent to the Arts Academy to be turned into stunning graphic posters. And recording is almost finished.

Writers have been given the option to be recorded reading their work, with the audio to be shared on this website to enhance the exhibition. Guest readers have done the job for those who weren’t able to do it in person.

And over at SHAC, production has begun on a slick magazine-style portfolio to collect the art, the texts and the graphic art, which will make a pretty darn cool memento.

August recordings come with a touch of India

We were very pleased to welcome Amit Dahiyabadshah, visiting from New Delhi, as a guest poet in August.

Sample the eleven offerings of flash fiction, poetry and memoir, most under five minutes, and also watch a video capturing much of Amit’s performance.

We’ll be “taking flight” in September. Feel free to join us for an uplifting night of spoken word (and a tasty dinner, too, for the peckish).
