by Craig Coulson
Arms reaching, touching the infinite,
skies darkening, obscured future
rising from the very core of life’s being.
Standing resolute, buffeted by change,
leaves stripped, blown into a mystery,
returning to Mother Earth’s caring embrace.
The sky and the land
joined by this skeletal frame,
a fragile hold enduring in the now,
looking forward into the unknowable.
Listen to Craig’s poem:
>> Craig lives with his family on 10 acres at Mount Egerton. He has been writing poetry all his life, becoming serious about it in 2013 when he took up a position as cafe poet in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. He is represented in several anthologies and active in the spoken word scene in the Ballarat area.
Sandra’s response to Craig’s text:
I find that when I am driving out in the country, I am focussed on the landscape, looking for the changes in colour, the season change. Like spring at the moment waiting for summer to see another different image. A hot day showing a sharp clear image of nature. I found reading Craig Coulson’s writing of my art work amazing. I enjoyed it so much.
