We are sticking our heads above the parapets of restrictions, lockdowns and general uncertainty to run Art Off the Page, an event in conjunction with the Melbourne Art Book Fair.
The event is part of a program kindly arranged by Ballarat’s Everybody Knows Books, who is also running some author talks in its splendid store as part of the event.
This will be, in keeping with the fair, themed on ART: a piece that has drawn an ekphrastic response, perhaps, or something more general. As usual, we’re pretty liberal when it comes to themes 🙂
Art Off the Page will be held at Midtown Cellars, 405 Sturt St, Ballarat, on 27 March, 5-6.30pm. Five-minute open mic slots available on the day, but please feel free to drop us a line if you’re keen so we can get a feeling for numbers.
In other news, we’ll be chasing up our book swap soon as some Covid and organisational waves subside.
And, there are moves afoot to hold a regular spoken word night in Ballarat! Stay tuned!
We would also point our published supporters to the Ballarat Imaginarium, 119A Sturt Street, where owner Melinda Muscat is selling books by locals for 30% commission – as well as a fabulous range of art by district artists.
Anyway, keep hold of those excess books for a little longer pending our swap, and hopefully we’ll see some familiar faces at Midtown on 27 March to get our arts on!
